It worked for me !!.... I was getting a real lag during downshifts in manual, now it is almost instant.I was in for service today and asked them to see if it can be improved further...I'll let you know when I get it back.

my car is at the dealer since monday - had a long list of minor complaints that they are fixing. however one of them was that the tranny would easily rev very high when accelerating. my dealer told me that they will reset the tranny, to which i said that i already tried the 25s trick, it worked well for me as it removed the jerk i had when slowing down at traffic lights. he told me the only way to reset the tranny was to do it with the diag software - i guess at that moment, he was disqualified in my eyes as a good dealer...

Cool stuff! I'm going to try it on an X3 loaner I have right now that has an annoying lag from a standstill...and seems to have a mind of it's own shifting down instead of up when I press the accelarator hard after I'm already in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear.

I'm surprised I missed this thread, but then again, I never could get myself to read his threads after a certain point. Kind of funny knowing that he contributed something that made such a difference to so many owners on this forum. Ha!
