Yeah, the police are great around here. They found a damaged car in a nearby parking lot the following day, tracked down the owner and called her into the station. They gave the 71 year old a citation for crossing the median. She claims she thought she hit a pothole (on a freshly paved road) which destroyed her mirror and scuffed her bumper. If it was her driving, maybe, as it was raining heavily and very dark out. Guess they can't give her a hit and run ticket if she dnt think she hit anyone?? On the other hand she was headed STRAIGHT for me with my headlights on. This happened on a Monday night and I got the call on the following Saturday. I still have my doubts that she was actually driving, however, due to where the car's registration details/owners address. Most likely her son/daughter/grandchild who was texting.

Oh, and it was an '06 Hyundai Elantra (2500 lbs) vs my 3500lb 545i. I think we were both blessed that I was able to avoid a header!!

I got the car back just two days ago, and thought I'd share the finished result. Thanks for all of your support and kind thoughts as I waited for my E60 to be repaired.

Sure wish I would've thought of the M5 mirrors, as one of em was destroyed in the hit anyway!

Oh well - guess I can't mod everything at once!

This car is incredibly safe IMHO. In my 535, I was hit on the side at about 60mph by an H2, and managed to walk away from it. Car was totalled, but who really gives a shit?

I am glad you are ok. Your ride looks awesome! Where did you decide to get your bumper and skirts from?

Look good. Glad it turned out well for you. My car was hit in the parking lot a few weeks ago by a hit-n-run driver. Luckily they only damaged the front bumper.

Bummer about your car being totaled by the Hummer, but glad you're ok. And you hate to see these cars ruined by carelessness on the roads and in parking lots! I got the replica sides and front bumper from Trinity Autosport. Nerweezy and Joe will take good care of you.

They are replicas. The underside is slightly bent upwards where it attaches in the center. I was going to bring it back to the shop to adjust my doors and I'll have them fix the front too.
