2005, 545i, 18000 miles.
Two issues: 1) transmission slam - solved by software upgrade, 2) brake squeal - solved by replacing brake sensors.

Sorry to high jack the thread but what do you mean by transmission slam?

In my case, the transmission "banged" into gear when accelerating from a rolling stop.
It felt like I was rear ended.

2004 - just hit 96K miles.

I'm just looking at getting a used E60, seen some great spec cars with around 70-90k on the clocks for really low ????, it's tempting, how's yours doing at 96k?, my E46 330 sport is on 65 k and 6 years with only silly probs (apart from the burst rad last year >>>>>>

I'm kinda nervous to hit 100K, especially with my extended warranty/service expiring and all my service issues. Car still drives somewhat new, but interior (door seals) still creaks like an old wooden ship, even after replacing the door seals with new door seals. My main complaint is the terrible service from Bob Smith BMW and that alone is enough for me to dump my 530 and look for something different. Right now I'm thinking 911 Carrera S.
