sd_dracula: Please check if all the cables in the multimedia interface harness are tight. From experience, I can tell you that my PNP harness had a loose brown cable (might have pulled out at some point) and I noticed it weeks after I started getting the battery discharge message. In the meanwhile, I got my battery changed and it fixed the issue for a while only.
In the end, I ended up noticing the loose cable on while doing another project, soldered it and the error went away permanently.
This might or might not help you, but I wanted to put this out.

Its difficult to troubleshoot since the error does not come up all the time.
But first will check battery (is there a battery tester of some sort which I can use?)
then the wiring harness and I did ask someone else on the forums who was having the same issue how they fixed and they just wired the power from the iDrive monitor instead of the head unit since the monitor goes off on position 0.

Battery tester is not going to provide a reliable result.
A member had this issue and I recommended him to get his battery tested. The report said that it was fine, but the subsequent weeks later, more electronic oddities started to happen. I told him to just replace the battery, and after he did, everything was back to normal.

Ok I was testing the multimedia adapter and I think I know why the car "thinks" there's a power drain.
The multimedia adapter has an LED indicating when it is active, so if I remove the key/power off the head unit, it takes around 1 minute for the LEDs to go off therefore the device powers off. Same if I lock the car.
I doubt that's draining the whole battery but would be nice to know how to power it from the iDrive monitor since that goes off instantly.
Anyone have a wiring diagram for iDrive monitor cable? Could not find it in WDS.
The Dension on the other hand, cuts power to the iPod as soon as the head unit is switched off/key removed from ignition.
That's powered from the CDC power cable. Anyone know if attaching the multimedia adapter to the same power cable as the Dension would be too much?

This is the fix for that error message due to the multimedia adapter.
