I've experienced something that sounds like what you have going on as well. I heard it for the first time a few days ago, and it's happened one more time since then. It's only happened to me while on the freeway going above 75 mph. I'd describe is as almost like a whistling noise that seems like it's coming from the two middle air vents but I can't pinpoint it exactly and because it only happens on the rare occasion I wouldn't be able to duplicate the sound for the service people.

Does this "whistling" sound like what you're experiencing?
