My 5301 is now about 18k miles. Once parked over 5 hours, I receive "High Battery" drain message since it was 5k miles.
I have been back and forth at Dallas BMW dealer asking to fix the same problem.
Last Friday I took th car back after almost 1 month of troubleshooting and replacing the main computer module. Just the next day I have the same problem. I returned the car again today for further testing to the same service station. They tell me their best technician is on it.

Is there any one with any ideas!. I am not sure what BMW is going to do I am very upset about this.

Same thing happened to me several months ago. The dealer determined that it was a part in the comfort access door handle that would fail to allow the car to go into "sleep" mode. As a result, the battery would continue to be drained while the car was parked. The part was replaced and software reprogramming was necessary. All has been fine since. It was very easy to diagnose for the dealer, so your issue may be different.

Thanks for the tip. Many people have told me some type of a door opening readiness noise many times. I will tell the dealer that info.

Dealer replaced comfort access module as well as master computer. The problem is still there. It has been at the dealer for almost 2 months back and forth with no solution. Any other suggestions is highly appreciated.

I had this problem on my E60 M5 if it was parked up for a few hours and it spent week after week in the dealer but nothing fixed it. They tried new battery, drain tests, comfort access, etc I thought it was my after-market Tracker system but this passed all the tests too.

In the end a fellow member of another forum here in the UK mentioned his problem of "High Rate Battery Discharge" was solved by having the dealer replace the IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor).

Had my IBS changed and it's not come back since. It seems there isn't actually a high battery drain just a faulty sensor reporting there is a high battery drain.

Hope this helps.

Do you have a power inverter plugged in? This will kill your battery.

Nothing is plugged in this car. I never used any of the plugs ever.

I had High Battery Drain intermittently on my 2006 530i. It was listed in a SIB and a software upgrade fixed it for me. Your problem sounds a little different though.

Yes had exactly the same problem, with the same resolution.

How many times have you been back to the dealer for the same problem? Maybe it's time to ask him about Lemon Law, too.
