The car had 25k miles (probably a 2010), and it seemed obvious this wasn't the first HPFP this car went through.
Yeah for us owners of cars that have the problem it sucks. I have been averaging about 5 months between HPFP related visits. My wife commutes freeway - I am waiting for the car to crap out in DC rush hour on the freeway!

its too old to lemon he means but negotating a bmw buyback is not a legal thing its a negotiation and has no mile/time limit. Lemon law is a law that they have to comply with but has a set time frame that defines the car as a lemon-three repairs on the same part in first year of ownership qualifies u

Depends on the local laws - I checked in MD it is 2 years/18,000 miles. I am just over two years and 28870 miles.

I am hoping that it will be resolved by then two. The verdict was that it the car needed a new HPFP. I got the 933 version of the HPFP and a reprogram. The SA said that he has not seen any reprograms come back that also had the HPFP replaced at the same time. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The mechanic that installed my hpfp said the new pump is now manufactured in Germany. He wasn't sure where the old pump was made.
