Question Help: Windy Sunroof

Anyone know what could be causing all of the wind noise coming from my sunroof glass? Is it just the seal or would the roof closure need adjusting? Thanks in advance.

Without the privacy panel closed, you're going to notice more noise from the sunroof. As long as it's not leaking, it's probably normal.

I'm not expecting it to be library quiet but it seems to be excessively noisy to me. I'll measure the decibels later.

If you're complaining about the wind noise it's probably 99% the rubber seal. Mine did not look like there was an issue at all, but there was at least a 2 fold difference with my privacy shade slid closed vs opened. It was a pain to get all the glue off the old one, but a snap to put in the new one and now it's almost the same sound whether the shade is opened or closed. I got my part from ECS, but there are plenty of places that have it, and it's not too expensive at all. Get a good scraper and goo gone, as well as alcohol to clean it. I heated mine up with a heat gun and pulled it off, and most of the glue came with the seal.

Yep that's exactly what mine is doing. So is the seal you are referring to item #7 or #8?

Probably 7.. here's the part I cut and paste from a thread.. 54107245551. Just literally look up sunroof seal, it's a long piece of rubber that's like weather stripping for a door.

UPDATE:
I just replaced that seal and its quiet as a church mouse now.

I had a hard time cutting the end straight and so it looks a tiny bit messed up where the end meets the beginning.
