I purchased a set of used 20 beyern multi wheels with nitto nt555 tires. When driving between 60-80 I have a heavy vibration feeling in the seats. I had them balanced three times and still feel it. The last time I had them road force balanced on the hunter machine and they balanced out perfect. I swapped my stock wheels back on and have zero vibration. Also they are centerbore 72 and fit firmly on the hub. Any ideas? I'm stumped and so are the tire techs. We also had a wheels specialist come in to check the truing of the wheel and it had no bends whatsoever. Any help would be much appreciated.

See if the used Beyern wheels require a spacer (ring) to ensure that there is a tight fit on your hub. Beyern wheels are good for BMW's but if they were purchased for another BMW maybe the hub was a different size. Good luck.

You said they fit on the hub perfectly and snugly? perhaps you have rings inside the wheel and they are not good rings and need replaced because you've already done all you can besides it being tires and I doubt you'd get the vibration you're getting only at specific speeds. the 70mph range vibration indicates not centered perfectly. Could be the bore was not drilled correctly.

Are you sure one of the rims isn't bent. You would be surprised at the number of idiots out their that balance tires but pay no attention to see if the rim is bent or not, sure you can get the tire to balance with a boatload of weights but it will still vibrate on the car.

I would assume the guy that specializes in the wheel would know if there's a bend. Ive had bent wheels at at the lip and there was never vibration with 2 wheels the tires make up for the bend....think about it from an engineering perspective....unless its a big bend im sure it wont hurt much unless its bent at to where it will be off-centered. Again, he had them road force balanced so that would have caught any anomalies in tire and rim. Only thing that can't be considered is his hub. Since his stock wheels are perfect, his hub is perfect. So problem lay between the hub and the wheel...... rings....

Don't assume anything. When I test drove my car it had a vibration that I assumed was a tire balance issue. After the 2nd trip to the dealer to resolve the issue I took the car to my shop and put the tires on the balancer myself and found a bent rim. I took the car back to the dealer and even told them which wheel was bent, after they looked at the wheel again they disagreed, I then had them pull the wheel off and put it on the balancer and showed them, their response was "we have seen wheels worse than that" and the road force was 35 lbs on the rotating assembly. They refused to do anything and said the vibration I was feeling was normal road imperfectios...I replaced the wheel myself and the car rides like it's on glass now. Point is that so called "wheel specialists" put too much faith in roadforce balancing when it comes to a bent rim.

Well i don't deal with people that don't know anything, so if I PERSONALLY talk to someone, I know they know. In the first 20 seconds if I don't kick it off with that person or pickup on negative vibes from them I move onto the next and don't look back. I don't deal with people who I feel are incapable or not knowledgeable. Since I am knowledgeable about many things I can tell when someone else is using basic psychology skills.
So I'll be assuming since I am not the OP. Like I said, if they don't pass my test then they're not worthy of my business. Period. And anyone that follows my posts knows that you should NEVER believe a $tealer. I know what I am doing in life so I'll take my advice and that's that. You take yours. Thank you for the advice.
