so i was driving to work today and i got this error screen come up. i dont know why it did. also i notice my car is making a wisling noise. i dont know if its my belt or not. it only happens when i take my foot off the gas. you think that has anything to do with it? also the "service engine light soon" came on at the same time. any help would be great. thanks

i was thinking of taking to the dealer, but if it something simple i wanna do it myself cause im out of my warranty

Hmm, well at least you got something more than just the normal CEL. More than likely one of your O2 sensors might be dying or a vacuum leak.

thats def an 02 sensor, also happens when you dont close your gas cap all the way. A mechanic told me that could trigger it. Might have been BS

I had that emissions warning appear once on my 550 - and after a restart it went away and it never came back. More worryingly, I took the car to the dealer to have them check it out, and not only was there nothing wrong with the emissions, the car had absolutely no record of ever throwing the error message...

Check you gas cap. Known issue for that. If anything, you might need to replace it. If that does not solve it, it may be your O2 sensors.

Yep, that's an O2 sensor. I've had that warning come on many times when I switched out my exhaust.

+1..either vacuum leak, o2 sensor, or gas cap.

Or the oil separator and/or PCV valve. The whistling gets louder.
