Unhappy

This may have been a topic in previous posts, but I am at a loss. The airbag light for my front passenger airbag will not turn off even when I have passengers in the seat -- sometime it is on, sometimes it goes off (suggesting that it is engaged and ready.)

My wife is pretty small (about 107 lbs). But I am very concerned this is unsafe. Anyone have any experience with this before I go back to my dealership?

Thanks!

The smart airbag is designed to detect when nobody or a child is in the seat and deactivate. I read discussion on another forum a several months ago about others experiencing similar problems. I can't remember the threshold but think 107 lb is well above it. It should not be deactivating so you should get it checked out - I think your wife would prefer an airbag in the face to the unthinkable alternatives.

the dvd video that came with my 545 said you have to push it evertime you start the car in order to turn it off, it automatcatically comes back on the next time you start your car.

Hmm never heard of that before. I can not push mine in. That doesn't make sense that you would HAVE TO push it in to turn it off. It is supposed to tell you when it is working or not. Am I wrong?

I agree, never heard of that. Mine is just a light, not a button. The light comes on automatically when there is no one in the seat and I have noticed it turning off a few seconds after my wife gets in the car. I think it is working perfectly.

Have you an upgrade?

The DVD and the airbag off light are US spec only.
