Help me find source of oil leak..

My Ride: '06 530i, '07 C280 4matic, '98 ML320
Although oil residue is present on the sway bar bushing and water pump bolts, the actual source of the oil leak may be well above. I'd clean the entire oil residue with brake parts cleaner and wipe off with rag and keep an eye for source of the leak. My guess is that the oil is actually leaking from oil filter gasket or oil cooler gasket or valve cover gasket and traveling down.
By the way that cylindrical object is the electric water pump.

So i went to clean some of the residue off the area. Didnt get much cleaning done but saw that the oil was dripping on parts further towards the firewall area as well. I noticed the oil pan gasket was visible. Now corrent me if i am wrong but i dont think i should be seeing this much of the oil pan gasket exposed. It was enough exposed to where i could flex the gasket.

I would drop the engine pan and see if its soaked in oil....if it is its likely you have a cracked auto sump.
One of the curse of these cars, its plastic and hairline cracks. Problem is it weeps all the auto fluid out and usually the first thing you know about it is when the car goes into 'limp home mode'.
Beware, mine cracked, I lost too much fluid, cooked the box and had to get the whole gearbox replaced as I roasted the mechatronic unit!!
I would get it looked at asap!!

Just recently noticed an oil spot on the garage floor and got under the car to take a look. Notice oil on the bottom part of the charge intercooler and hoses. Began a clean-up and traced the leak back to a leak in the oil cooler (seems like a spot weld failed). The pics that were posted don't match up to what I saw, but maybe this info will help.
