Default Help ID'ing engine part

If you look at the attached picture, I was looking through my engine today and noticed the highlighted area was lose.

I have 2 questions.

1) Can this affect the engine performance in anyway
2) Can anyone help me name the part and if possible a part number as well.

I'm trying to self diagnose the lack of power my engine has been experiencing.

Thanks.

Try realoem.com, just put in the car you have, the model, build date and then look at the engine schematics

I believe that is the hose coming from the secondary air (not to be confused with second derriere) pump. It attaches to the secondary air check valve, the round thingy. The secondary air system only operates for about 45 seconds at startup. If the check valve is stuck open, fresh air may leak into the exhaust and a false lean condition will be read by the O2 sensors. The ecu will compensate by adding fuel and the engine will run rich.

Can that cause a missfire?
