HELP! E60 Idles rough
#1
Not sure if this is the right place to post a help thread so my apologies if so.
I have a 2004 525i (e60) Just hit 100,000
Started idling low and rough under 1,000 rpm, so I thought it was time to replace spark or coils. Took it to a place to read the codes and of coarse it said sparks and 2 coils. I completely replaced all 6 sparks and 6 coils, everything under best specification bosch sparks good coils tourqed at 18 pounds, everything done by myself. Finnaly started her up ran beutifully till i got to the end of the street got to a complete stop and she started idling rough again.
Now it has a new problem In the morning it cranks but doest not start. I have a brand new BMW battery in it, all lights work and everything. Then when it gets evening it magically turns on after one try. I read that if the battery in the key is low or something with the key has to do with it? The battery in my key Is low/dying im going to replace that tommorow.
Anyone have any experiences with this? Should I take it to the stealership? Should I sell it and get an STI?
Tried to research all I could before posting this.
I appreciate all the help in advance.
Jon

First go and get the codes read out again. This should help put you in the right direction if there are any stored. Also, what kind of plugs did you use? I switched brands of plugs in my mercedes and it would crank for an extended period before firing up. If all these things check out, it could be a sign of a failing fuel pump.

I took it to the stealership luckily one of the service writers is a homie only charged me 60 for diagnosis
They found that the "crank case valve and hoses" need to be replaced. 350 for parts 750 for labor.
Hope if anyone else has this problem it helps them as well to check that part.
Here goes on the search for a small bmw mechanic shop.
Edit:
Heres a link if anyone else has this issue!

I was just about to post a quick reply telling you to check the CCV until I read the entire thread.
Very easy to do, just take your time. While you are in there, I strongly suggest to take a look at the other hoses as well as the oil separator. Look for cracks on the other hoses and oil residue around the oil separator. Part pricing isn't too bad.
