i just purchased this 2004 530i on april 7 was waiting for it to rain so i could try out my adaptive wipers. well...it rained, and i got to use the wipers but noticed there was a little wet spot on the a pillar cloth. i wondered if there was a leak or not. i inspected all the seals and they all seem to be in good condition and in the right place. ....as far as i can tell anyway. well i took my car through a wash because ive been soo busy i didnt have time to wash it myself, and about halfway through the wash, i hear, and felt water dripping from the bottom of the dash and splattering on the floor mat and hitting my left ankle. i noticed the a pillar was a little wet right where it starts to arch downward towards the windshield and dash, and also it was extremely wet where the a pillar met the dash. i was furious because i cannot find any faults in the seals. everything seems to match up just right. no cracks or anything. there is no signs of kinks in the rubber either. is there any info on the door seals or has anyone else had this issue? and if so how was it solved. this seems to be one of my biggest problems with the car right now, aside from my wheels rubbing my fenders.

What about the windshield and sunroof seals? Water can get in from just about anywhere in the roof area and make its way to the A-pillar.

no. its not the sunroof. when i ran it through the car wash, there was this neon green soapy water they used to wash it. a couple green drops of water were behind the seal at the top of the door. so i know its getting in through the door. i just havent pinpointed exactly where its comming it because there is moisture behind a portion of the seal about 2 feet long.
