Was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem and might know what it is.

I have a 2007 550i. When I reverse the car and back out with steering at full tilt, as one would when pulling out of a parking spot, the car shakes/jerks pretty noticeably. The shake happens when applying the brakes a bit to stop/slow the backing out speed.

Any sense of what might be causing this problem? It is more pronounced when the car has been sitting for a while.

I have active steering and thought maybe that is a factor.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Don't know if it is related to your problem, but my E46 did that a week before the vibration damper pulley broke. Cost me an arm and a leg!
