Help - Auto box pregnant pause is driving me nuts!
#11
Bad news guys; I have the same "pregnant pause" when coming to a stop and then trying to move off in my new E92 335d. So the problem's still there in the ZF6HP26 TU (Techinically Updated) transmission.
I think I remember reading somewhere that there was speculation that this was caused (in part at least) by the "brake assist" function, but I'm not sure if that was verified.
Anyone have any tips for reducing the pause? I think it's actually more noticeable in the 335d than it was in my 2004 530d.

Mine is less of an issue since a DMS remap, purely I think because the torque increase means I use less throttle when pulling away into traffic.
I have posted long previously on this topic and am still unhapppy with the overall situation.
Letters to BMW UK and BMW AG have got no sensible response.

Guys guys guys the cure is already there and you don't even know it. Why treat the gas pedal gently when you can pedal to the metal and that solves everything. PS: This works only with DSC completly off
But serious now sometimes mine does it too, quite rarely even but i learned to live with that.

I push the stick into neutral when coming to a halt and I have noticed that this seems to result in clear gear selection. I havn't tried it as a tactic to foil the 'pause' though. I did try putting it into sport at the crutial moment but that didn't seem to do anything for me.
