There is a 2004 545 SMG that I am considering. It has 47000 miles, but in great shape. It is from a Lexus dealership, so no CPO status. There is a 4yr/100k warranty for $3k from Auto Warranty Brokers. Car is $32,800.

Do you think it is a good deal? Is it too old and have too many miles? I plan to drive it for another 4 years. So I figure until 90000 miles. Although I will have the extended warranty, I don't want the thing in the shop all the time.

Price is good. But I cant say how reliable for a 2004. I have a late 2004 November built Model year 2005 545 and its been trouble free. *knock on wood* many have had trouble free 545s too but several have had problems... so its luck of the draw. Go drive it and see how the car behaves... Where is it located? I would go drive it for you and tell you what I think. hahaha

 

You will love the car. I had a 2nd week of production SMG (March 2004) 545 and have had problems one including the replacement of the transmission, but the car was a blast.

 

i am not sure about the price-with this mileage it should be less than 30K,for 32K you should be able to get 04 545 with a lot of goodies with 36K miles at the most.As far as the car-you will certainly have fun with it until something will break-mine had transmission replaced at 22K miles.

 

Ouch are you selling your 545 for <30K?

 

i am leasing-it's going back to BMWFS in about 3 weeks,but buyout is about $32-33K

it's about right-as a rule of thumb-they loose little more than half in value after 3 yrs,mine was around 67K when new.
