yeah, you can, like, buy rims with that kind of dough

Anyway, OP, you're lucky it was your neighbor and that she admitted to it - g'head and get it fixed (maybe even get a mod or two while you're at it - hey, they'll be painting the door anyway, right? ) and good luck with all! Good thing nobody was hurt (I'd try to park out of harm's way going forward though).

Wow, that sucks! At least your neighbor was an honest, decent person who took responsibility!! I hope it gets repaired quickly. So are you going to have any other parts (new) painted at the same time??

Sorry to hear that. Well, look at the bright side, its at least covered by insurance and not out of your own pocket.

I got the AAA shop quote (at Caliber Collision) today and it was aproximately $900 less than that of Irvine BMW's shop (Spectrum Collision). I don't have a lot of confidence with Caliber because they had a hard time even figuring out what the paint code was for Mystic Blue. They also only want to replace the door skin and not the frame (which is also bent at the top). The other major difference was Spectrum has some $300+ to reset electronics (airbag and other safty stuff), which they say has to be done when they unplug the door wire harnesses...seams high to me but looking at their shop is very clean and appears to know more about BMW requirements so I think I will go with them and let them battle it out with AAA for re-adjustements. Stay tuned!
