Wait...how did the positive cable get loose? Had you removed the battery to charge it?

Nope, i was about to remove the battery to charge it thats how i found out the cable was loose because as soon as i moved the cable the light from the trunk came on.

Not sure if you were removing the battery for some additional purpose, but the battery is best charged while in the car. Use the jump terminals in the engine bay.
