A while back I was looking for pedals for my e46 and I ran ito a company called "Rennline"...not "rennsport"...they actual;ly make throttle pedal extensions that are made for heel toe driving, I tried there website, www.rennline.com, but the BMW section is under construction.
Check out the porche sectiopn and look at the pedal, you'll get the idea...

I just can't heel and toe most times just based on the shoes I have on. You really need thin or small shoes or driving shoes to be able to nimbly move the foot for heel and toe.
Thats why my favorite shoes to go driving where I can hell-toe and dbl-clutch are pirellis, Tod's and prada loafers and pumas....with Pirelli being the best

For those with the 6spd, do you find the pedal placements a bit awkward to execute heel-and-toe easily?
Anyone do a retrofit to get a bigger brake pedal?
Thanks.

hey buddy i think you got confused. Heel-toe is used when downshifting to my knowledge....hillstart doesnt provide that...

I use to have my complaints, but I've pretty much gotten use to it. I use to think that I had to articulate my ankle/foot much more than with other cars, but don't really think that's the case anymore.
And sure, SMG is great technology, but I'm learning that three pedal manual transmissions are much more fun to drive.

My other car is a Caterham:
California Caterhams or Caterham Cars UK
I have the Caterham set up to enable heel and toeing, but predominantly for race track use. The real justification for heel and toeing is to leave braking late enough into a corner, that full on braking will reduce speed sufficiently down to corner entry speed, without the need to allow distance for a gear change unbalancing the car. The fact that the braking is at 90% plus means that the stresses on the brakes, gearbox and chassis are massive, such that it is possible that minimum clutch is actually used.
I find it difficult to know where I would use this technique in a 5-Series on the highway! Unless you are braking to the point of the ABS functioning, there seems little reason to put teh car under such stress?

Only when I was perfecting my ability to actually perform the technique! Now I'm happy I can do it I rarely use it away from the track, and certainly never in car other than my Caterham. There just doesn't seem any point in the 5.

Bobbin,
Do you ever heel and toe in a casual manner, say to set up a few mild mannered 2nd and 3rd gear turns or do you just do it under threshold braking?
