Headliner sagging. Question on rewrap?
hi
My 06 525i headliner starts sagging off, including the edge of the sunroof. I plan to DIY the headliner rewrapping but would like to have further info on the material.
1. I look over amazon, ebay and a few fabric size but they only have those flat knit headliner at 60" width while our car is 78" something. It means I can do the whole headliner in one piece, would that be an issue? I can imagine there will be a line on my headliner which is prettly ugly though. Where did you get yours material?
2. Since the headliner is out, I plan to do pillars as well so what length of fabric I should be looking at? I plan to get 5 yards, would that be sufficient?
Thanks

The liner in my E61 is sagging and both sections of the material on my sunroof shade fell off completely. I got a 5' wide by 5 yard roll of Grey suede that matches the old color perfectly. I should have plenty to do the pillars headliner and sunshade in the E61.
I haven't found the time to pull the headliner yet but I would like to get it done before winter.

Thanks. Then I'll get 5yard long x 70" wide.
Another question on material, I can see they have
(I) flat knit with 1/8" foam backing
(ii) flat knit with 3/16" foamn backing
Are those big difference on fitting? I can see the foam backing may pose some issue at the edge of the roof, sunroof and pillar.
What about suede? My car is black on black so I don't know if suede would make the car look dull
