I agree 100%. Imagine a $10K wiring harness.

I have to hand it to Fields BMW Winter Park, Orlando.

Delivered my car on Wednesday and they gave me a loaner, didnt hear from them the first day, called 3 times to get a hold of my SA, and he finally called back at 4pm on Thursday with very little info, just that he had the case with the headlights running up the system, they serviced my car and it will probably be done tomorrow. I asked what they had done with the headlights, but he said the tech got all the info and not him (ive been a service advisor for VW/Audi for 3 years and i was running the show, not my mechanics or techs, is this normal?)
He called me back on Friday and said my car was ready for pick up and that they closed at 6...so what has been done with it? Oh, we installed 2 new headlight assemblies!!!!!!!!!!

Im not gonna argue with that, $50.00 for 2 new headlights!!!!

(Photo is with regular bulbs, LEDs going in as soon as i have time)

Same problem here. I was told by my mechanic that if the bare wires come in contact, the fuse will shut off the lights before damaging the headlights. I'm kinda worried about this as I moved to seattle and its rainy season, Can't insulate them until few days.
What how damage the lost insulation can possibly do ? Can you verify the fuse theory if bare wires comes in contact?

I didnt run into any fuse failures, I just couldnt get the DRL bulb to stay lit for more than about 1 second - wires were touching each other, shorting out the bulb.

good luck with the repair, i hope you have better luck than i did. i had to buy new headlights. i highly suggest everyone check their housings, especially those with CPO cars.

cheers.

Im overly happy they gave me new headlights covered under CPO.
But only the bulb blew, not the fuse or anything else.
