Default Headlight replacement question HELP!!!

Hello everyone I drive a 545i 05 bimmer and my headlights were a little hazy and fogging and one day while I was on a business trip my son decides to attempt to restore the lenses and sands them down way to much and sprays a clear coat spray paint over them.. The lenses now look absolutely terrible ( have run marks, more foggy and hazy, just terrible) and need to be replaced... Wet sanding does nothing to help I have the adaptive xenon headlights... Is there a cheap way to go about replacing both headlights... When I search online I see around 500+ $$ for just a single headlight and that seems ridiculous to spend 1000$ to replace both. Any help???

I bet you can still restore the plastic. You can have it done professionally or do it yourself. This kit looks pretty good. I have not used it but have always had good luck with the brand.

I would not give up unless he cut very deep grooves in the plastic.
