Is it possible to change the Plastic headlight Lenses with out changing the entire headlight assembly? Mine are all pitted and I want them to look like new again when I do the M-tech kit and all that.

BMW doesn't sell the plastic lens as an individual part. You have to get the whole headlight assembly.

My Ride: e39 525i Touring, will order e61 as soon as I can decide on engine and options...
I'm not an expert in this field but maybe you could polish them with some plastic-polish compound or ultra fine grain tool + water?

How can they be scratched?
In California you should not have a lot gravel and spikes flying around the roads,
as overhere?

Hahahha Thats what everyone thinks... but when you have all these dump trucks and cargo trucks pulling stuff from construction site and to and from the ports they drop all kinds of stuff!!

My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.
I put the clear bra on my car, which I am very glad about, but skipped the headlight film. I am sorry I did as they are all pitted.
The assembly is pretty complicated with the adjustable control system and I am sure it alleviates a lot of other problems and cost by having it as one complete assembly. I think most of the high end cars are built this way.

I have to say they are making these lenses with a little better quality. I remember when the E36 came out and the lenses were crap, it always faded and dirt got in easily. But I believe you can take out those lenses easily back then and clean them.
