Thumbs down

Hello everyone, my car has only 17,500 miles on it for a 2 year old car. I have been having some mechanical issues with my car and they said that they need to do a head replacement or head job. But I don't have alot of miles on my car. After talking to some friends they were telling me that that is horrible and that it should not have to be done on a bmw with only 17k miles , they were telling me that the engine won't be the same, it won't drive as good as it once did so now I am getting worried, what should I do? Should I go through with the service or complain to the bmw of North America.

Is this a good thing or bad thing to have to be done on an 07 car?

head replacement is ridiculous. Even if your car overheated severely, i dont think you could warp your heads enough to merit replacement... maybe head gasket? either way, 17K miles is far far far below the average replacement. Something is fishy.

what kind car is it? dont say its an e60

just get it done.... i mean it is myth that it will get worse if you replace something from factory. i mean they are all same parts coming from factory so why not. if it needs to get replaced then replace asap. BMW NA wont do anything except get that thing fixed through warrenty. trust me i had some problem and was thinking about going to BMW NA but then I realized it would take tooo long.

i mean you are saying you are worried that you have to change engine oil or break pad because it is not the way car came out from the factory.

I had to replace transmission when i had honda when i had it for only 7000 miles. well car ran so much better than before. So you do not have to worry about that at all.

also make sure your car is checked by head service advisor and technician not from regular technician

Yes i know I have been having a ticking issue and it ticks very loud and some points it goes for at least 20 minutes without stopping. they said they have to to a head job, they have had my car for over a week and a half and the gut called me today and said we are still waiting ion the part, so it will be another week, this is too long. this is ridiculous. do you think they can buy it back or do a trade or will they not do anything like this.I think that it won't drive the same and that it won't perform the same or simply lead to more future problems.

You are so far off from the "lemon law" kicking in. they will fix your car and that is that. they at least put you in a loaner, right?
