It has come too quickly - only 6 weeks

The UK has traditionally been a very important market for BMW. Perhaps our allocation of production time (for RHD) is greater than some other countries. Perhaps I just fell lucky and they were running a batch of RHD cars. Mine has quite a few options, although nothing unusual.
Interested as my dealer say's he will update me weekly but I am not sure whether its worth it.

Did your car orginally show this short lead time from when the dealer got a date from the factory or did the lead time shorten once the car had been on order for a couple of weeks?

It's not the fresh car you liked but it's there, now...
The BMW dealers are getting hell from the factory, the dealers are nowadays responsible
for their orders and achievements!
If you order from the factory you'll get exactly what you want but that will take its time.
Customers relationship goes both ways.

Slot booked 12 Feb 2006 - paid deposit. Final spec confirmed 27 Feb 2006 (not many extras). Car here in UK 4 April 2006. Dealer knew I wanted car for early May - better be my exact order - I have not been to check yet - not collecting until 29 April
As we know BMW does some upgrades from March production
and some more mayor ones in September.
A April car should be from the March production.
It's not that of an big swim from Germany to the UK.
The car has a prodction code - just check it out!
No doubts after that!
