Has anyone's NAV drive failed?

The other day I found my NAV was acting kind of wierd and I thought is was just the normal gremlins. However, last night I put in an address and started it. The HUD display never changed from the arrow pointing out my destination direction. I never got any addtional directions from her(Luckily my passenger knew the route we need to go). The distance to destination never changed. It was like it was frozen on one spot. I tried a reboot to no avail. The NAV would not give my current location. I could not eject the DVD either. A short time later it said please insert NAV DVD.
This morninig i was able to eject the DVD before starting the car. I re-inserteed and all the above symptoms returned.
My guess is the DVD drive has failed as the NAV computer looks like it wants to work but just doesn't have any info.

Haven't heard that one yet. My guidance locks up once in a while, but just by stopping and restarting guidance, it comes back.
Yesterday, I was driving on a freeway that was opened over 1.5 years ago, but the NAV system (2-2004 disk) didn't even have it!!!!!!!!!!!! It got all confused.

Exactly the same thing happened to my car last week!
Got it back today - working again.
It seems to be a "fatal" bug in software (a reboot will not help) that demands a reinstall of program.
(Got version 15.1 had 13.x)

My Ride: 04 545 6 spd - saphirre black/black - nav, logic 7, winter package
my nav worked great for 3 months then started doing the same thing. plots miles off or does not move. I was upgraded to version 15 - no change. They had the car for 3 more days and ran all kinds of diagnostics and said all was well. They said its "normal" - bad weather makes picking up the sats difficult. whatever. Nav is still screwed. If anyone has a successful fix, would be great to hear what it was!

Mine happened a few times when there isn't any arrow in the HUD when i chose a destination. But i just have to restart the com (wait for 5 mins after off the car) and everything went back to normal
