All, I've noticed on warm days with the car fully warmed up, if I turn it off and come back a while later...it takes more cranking than normal to start...not all the time, but every now and then. Never happens when it's cold...anyone else notice this
Is this a "trait" of the I6 or perhaps the new injectors, etc?

Might be your high pressure fuel pump. I had similar issues and after the dealer ran the diagnostics, that's what came back. They had the car for a couple days and when I got it back...PERFECT. They were really surprised when the diagnostic came back with this result. So much so, they called Munich to confirm. Apparently, this was an issue in previous models they thought had been remedied...guess not.
I'd definitely take it in and have it checked out.

Won't say this IS your problem, but a possibility. See excerpt from owners manual highlighted here.
Jess, I hope this is not the issue...I use Union 76, Shell and Chevron 91 octane fuel so I'm thinking it's probably not all three brands?
thx - for the heads up though

Ace, thanks for the recommendation...you just might be on to something...I do remember reading about this last year and will have it checked when I take my car in to have the driver's rear window fixed. For some reason, it is stuck in "antitrap mode" and won't operate with the express up/down. I have to manually "walk" it down in 3" to 4" increments. I'll have the dealer check the fuel pump pressure as well. The hard starting happened again just yesterday with the car completely cold (had sat overnight) for the 1st time...had only happened when it was warm before. Even my girlfriend (who knows-nor cares anything about cars) asked why my car was taking so long to start
