The problem is that the brake pedal gets hard on startup after long hours (overnight or more) of parking.
Just want a poll to see how common it is.

My Ride: F13 M6
for me, engine off=hard brake pedal all the time until start up. as the engine starts and my foot is still on the brake, the pedal eases up and softens to normal feel.

I am surprised to see the high percentage (so far) of the problem.
I wonder whether it's a design flaw, quality control issue or manufacturing issue.
Brake booster is a very matured technology.

The way to check the proper function of the brake servo is to place your foot on the footbrake pedal with engine off. When you start the vehilce the servo will operate and the brake pedal will soften slightly.This is absolutely normal and I would be concerned if this did not happen in the situation I describe. It is neither a design fault or problem.
