How does your 5 series stack up to the cadillac xlr? which do you prefer as a daily driver?

I love both cars (aside from all the problems with the Caddy) but I prefer the 5 over the XLR as a daily driver. Don't get me wrong, I could easily drive the Caddy everywhere but the 5 is more comfortable, smoother, has more toys, and is even faster believe it or not.

Glad to hear everything worked out with your car.

So now the car doesn't have that high revving problem anymore right?

wow sorry to hear this.
why do you always update the softwere? Is there something wrong with the car for it to be update.
I had the car for 3 years and nervered updated the software, just like a computer if it work and nothing wrong with it then leave it.
So you never install the automatic updates in your computer?

Yea it's back on, no need for the box, thanks The tech said it was normal to rev like that. I did notice that the 328 loaner did the same thing, just not quite as loud since it has a smaller engine. He said in sport mode it wants to hold the gear longer, so maybe it's just happening because I have a heavy foot and the RPM's fly up fast. I'll see if it becomes an issue.

.....I already have a service appointment The shifter gets stuck when in park and won't go into reverse unless I click it down a bit or wiggle it around first. It was fine for a few days and just started sticking today. I really hope this car doesn't make a habit of this.
I think my car is having the same problem. I have had mine for 3 weeks and this past week I am not able to move from Park to Reverse in the morning when I leave for work. I press the button on the side, try to move it to R and it won't move. I take my foot off the brake, put my foot back on the brake and then I can move it into R. I can put it into R fine through the day, but the following morning I have to go through the same steps to back it out of the garage. It has been like this for five days now. Mine is a September build.

Is this similar to what you went through?

Yes but it was not just the next morning, it would stick almost every time I tried to shift into R regardless of how I pressed on the brake. Sucked for parallel parking! Bring it in, they should have it back to you in a couple of days.
