I think it is mainly to the torque(plus i had K&N air filter + S
. When we first accelerated, the X3 jumped ahead by a car and remained that way till we reached 140 km/h.

I have owned both cars...check my gallery and they both ran in the 12's for the 1/4 mile. I had a few light modifications, but even out of the box the v8 s4 (the slower of the 2) runs about a 13.4 with a good driver. BTW - The rs4 is a really nice car, but has nothing on an m5 on the highway. In the turns........m5 will look like a civic in comparison.

Im not sure why there are so many 525 members here that want to mod them...I've said it a million times, stop trying to make it something its not. Put your money towards handling/suspension tuning, and enjoy cruising. They are not racecars, in fact my jetta GLI was a rocket compared to my 530i.

Glorified VW? Why would you have that idea about Audi's?? Besides their reliability issue (which, unfortunately is pretty damn big), they do make much better cars than VW. Not to mention much better looking.
