Got my car!
Well, after shopping for the better part of 6 months, and posting on this board for advice, I finally found my car, and I pulled the trigger!
Pix: New car - Imgur
Specs: 2008 550i. 6-speed Manual. Black, Dakota Leather interior. Sport bumper / M wheels. 73,000 miles, in immaculate shape. Dinan intake, throttle body, and ECU map.
It drives so sweet. I couldn't be happier, with the exception that it needs brake rotors, and it's going to cost me like $1200 by the time I get the rotors, pads, and sensors replaced.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.
Sounds like a sweet ride.
After you have been out driving the S curves hard I know that with confidence I can say "Wipe that grin off your face"!
Enjoy.

Well, after I get over the brakes, supposedly, all I would need would be the exhaust to get a Dinan badge. I don't have the receipts from the previous work, though, so I don't know how that works.

For the price quoted, look at doing a low mileage M swapout. They come up pretty regularly from guys going to BBKs or from salvage, and can be had for less than what you're estimating! Welcome to the fold... and let the modding begin!
