I am sure there are people out there has gone from RFT to non RFT. But the question is do you guys have a donut spare? Because for cars equipped with RFT, you don't get a donut spare in the trunk. What if the unthinkable happens? Just park on the side and wait for a tow truck? I can't imagine what's gonna happen if you have kids in the car in a sunny summer day with 30+ degrees C or 90+ degrees F or in a winter storm. Opinion guys...

I'm considering purchasing a set of "winter" wheels & tires but may simply use our '07 Rav4 AWD if bad weather and a need to drive somewhere intersect.
Now that the nice weather is getting here the Roadster comes out of the garage for sunny days / nights ... life sucks!

I drove from San Francisco back to LA with 0 tire pressure on run flats (my old 530). No worries. I wish they came with the 550. I'd rather drive on a "flat" run flat versus a donut spare any day.

To all who dislike RFT.... The day or night you get a flat or blow out you're going to wish you still had RFT's on your car. The biggest benefit of RFT is that you'll never be stranded or ever have to STOP AND CHANGE A TIRE.
Swapped my 18" style 124 RFT with 20" staggered non-RFT. Loved them ever since. Smoother ride with my 20" vs. 18" RFT.
Got a 17" donut spare in the trunk.
Keeping the style 124 for winter tires or driving to the mountains.

I think you guys are misunderstanding me... I know the benefits of both RTF and non RTF. I would rather go with non RTF. But I am worry about the unthinkable. If the car came from the factory with RTF, you don't the a spare donut in the truck, are I correct? So what did you guys do if that's the case? Buy a spare donut to fit into the truck or just leave as it's, driving on non RTF without the spare. In that case, when the unthinkable occurs, you will just be waiting for tow truck??
