According to Wikipedia..
"Current compact car size, for US and international models respectively, is approximately 4,100 mm (161 in) and 4,450 mm (175 in) long for hatchbacks, or 4,400 mm (173 in) and 4,750 mm (187 in) long for convertibles, sedans (saloon) or station wagons (estate car)."

The 04 E60 is 190.6 inches long...

I may be dumb or So Cal blinded me but I had no idea your car had to be a compact classification to park in a compact spot. I thought a compact spot was just that... compact and smaller than the normal parking spots.

Considering no one cares in SoCal and I see Escalades, Hummers, 7-Series, S-Classes parked there all day, I never thought twice.

In the US, the fuel economy section of the Monroney Sticker compares the vehicle with others in the same classification, as rated and mandated by the EPA.

Some sticker samples:

2010 Subaru Legacy (mid-size)

Toyota Camry Solara (compact)

2007 Lexus GS 350 (mid-size)

2008 Lotus Exige (two seater)

Search Google Image for "Monroney Sticker"

yes...

"compares the vehicle with others in the same classification, as rated and mandated by the EPA."

the sticker is saying ...

for comparison only all cars that are compact have been issued a mpg between 10 and 60 mpg....

it is simply saying that this car gets 30 mpg for comparison compact cars have get between 10 and 60

it does not say the e60 (what we are referring to here) is a compact - its talking about comparing gas mileage. there is nothing on that sticker that says this car is a "compact car"
