Hi all, my glove box handle has come loose and the glove box is now stuck shut

Has anyone else ever=er had this problem and if so how did you remedy it??

I have with previous cars removed it from the bottom but that seems quite difficult.

Thanks

If the handle is completely off, there should be a metal hook-like lever. Slide it and the box should open. Otherwise careful application of a screwdriver should work. The glove box mechanism isn't the best engineering feet done by BMW engineers, unfortunately. It rather sux, actually.

+1 on that. My glovebox is broken where the glovebox door hinge attaches to it. I'm going to have to get a whole new glovebox, I think, and I'm not impressed with how flimsy it looks. I guess messing around with my glovebox with give me a good excuse to throw an ipod adapter in there!
