To be honest I don't know. I didn't notice any issues before, and nor do I after. I would assume they do not, but it would be a guess.

I had problems with my tires at 17000 miles. our dealer in Indianaoilis was very helpful and changed all my tires to updated Dunlop RF under warranty as tires were showing cupping of the inner edge. Our dealer provides exceptional service. So far ride is much better than earlier dunlops. This board was very helpful as i was able to show them the rt buletin. Thanks

Thanks to you all for arming me with info. The problems with my tires are being addressed by the dealer and all four of the dreaded run flats are to be replaced under warrranty tomorrow. Yea!!
This forum has been indispensible to my knowledge of how to deal with this quirky, but wonderful automobile.
I have owned BMWs since 1970 with my first being a grand 1600 white w/blue.

The magic number is 20,000 miles. After that BMW will not replace your tires for free. I just had mine replaced at 14.4K. Was no trouble at all. I just mentioned to my SA about the loud noise coming from the tires. This was done at BMW San Diego. They actually did a decent job considering that this dealership has been slammed a few times by folks here and at bimmerfest. I had no choice b/c they are the only one in San Diego to offer loaner cars to those who did not buy cars from them.

What make and type of tire did you get. Did they replace with run flat?

There would be no reason for them to do so assuming one had no problem before. If there is a problem after, then an alignment would be indicated, but I am not sure who "would pay." I suppose the individual would pay if he or she could be believed reasonably to be responsible for the problem.
