I am laughing so hard right now at your post. I just sent her this quote in an e-mail:

"... it means i get to put the M-tech kit on the car sooner rather than later."

Talk about having leverage! In all honesty though if I do the cash deal with Eurorev, it starts to make sense (i can rationalize it that way).
U da man!!!!

In addition to my new '08 550 sport we have a couple of E60's in the family. My 86 year old father in law recently "curbed" his right rocker panel on his '07 530 and yesterday I ordered one through Sterling BMW. The 51-71-7-066-222 rocker cover was list price at $240.00 -$216.00 with a discount. Plan on getting all of the plastic clips too for about 20.00. Add painting and Dad will owe me at least another 150.00.

So, Your pothole could cost you 500.00. Give a week for the paint shop and no one else in the family will know.

I'll bet someone here would gladly donate theirs to you. With so many conversions to MTECH bodies there must be a few garages out there with spare /unused / valueless rocker panels................just ask ! Good luck !

I hit a pothole three days ago and destroyed the front passenger side 22" rim on my S. The spare would have been a joke to run so I got to use AAA towing for the first time in my 5 years of membership.

If you live in or near Ranch Santa Margarita, California - keep a keen eye out if you ever drive Antonio all the way down to Ortega and make a right heading towards SJC - this ditch of a pothole would have taken out a stock alloy.

teksp0rt,

I hope you take this opportunity to some nice skirts! Don't worry, man - important thing is noone got hurt. And the car will get fixed - it'll look even better now. I noticed you have the runflats, so it is possible that the rim and/or tire is damaged and you wouldn't know rightaway. I had a crack in my rim, that didn't show itself for probably months, bc I have RFTs. But one day it just gave in and I went to the shop and saw the crack and we all knew that it definitely happened a long time ago, so be sure to check the rims. GL with fixin' the car (up )

I took everyones advice and got the drop done immediately. I went with the Renntech module and installed it myself - it took me about 3 hours to adjust the ride height just how I wanted it - then the sun went down. I decided to drive to a bright parking lot near my house and the perfect, level spot I found just happened to have a police cars headlights shining on it. Some irvine PD car was sitting sideways in a spot talking to the complex security guard. I parked there anyway, and used the light from the cop car to get a good view of the up/down/ lowering operation to get as low as I could without major rubbing. The cop didn't seem to care at all, not even when I got back in my car, turned it around to use the light on the other side. I was there for over 30 minutes and they just sat there watching me.

Here is a pic of a recent drive to Santa Monica, I also got the tint done...

Wow that must have been one hell of a pot hole. I don't know how you couldn't have a bent rim or at the very least a blown out tire from that.

Chances are a dealer will be in that $500 range to fix that. But since you in LA it won't surprise me if it was more like $800.

M package sounds pretty good. Wifey won't say anything as I'm sure she feels bad.
