As a noun that is correct, but it has been used as an adjective in this thread.

In California you're not allowed to tint the front windows at all

I'm sorry you're right 70% is allowed but I don't think most shops even carry something that light because you probably cant even see it. I've been told by law enforcement that any kind of tint on the front windows are illegal but vehicle code says otherwise.

" on a cold and grey Chicago morning a poor little baby child is born ..................

It depends on the look your trying to achieve - if you are looking to leave the car classy then go legal, if not I like 50% on front then fade darker to the back. I actually think a car looks classiest with no tint now that I am pushing 40
Also as others note once you decide to tint DO NOT GO CHEAP - cheap tint dis-colors

I ended up going 32% in the front and 22% in the back. Looks really good!

Hopefully I don't get harassed by the cops. :-)

I did NOT get 20% all around cuz I was worried about tickets and safety inspection:

http://forums.5serie...window-tinting/

To this day...I REGRET IT!

My old Audi had 20% all around and I got pulled over 2x with warnings only, after 8yrs of ownership.

You gotta find a cool garage shop that will help you pass inspection too.

I like the look of tint but I'm getting old. Night vision is getting worst and tint is a big hindrance. I also live in the county and there is less street lighting there. I have tint on my 545i but I roll down the windows when I back up and use my parking sensors to help out.
