Getting 16.2 installed on Friday

I just bought a 2005 530I. Is there any way I could find out what version my car has. Is there that big of a difference between the versions or is it just about having the latest and greatest.

WAIT WHAT!?!!? THey have 16.2 already??? I too thought it wasnt even out in Germany yet!!! WOW... Ummm this is interesting... 
What are the improvements? Can you ask your tech or service advisor if it fixes any SMG problems? PLEASE????

i dont want smg to have problems. hell i had a dream about taking delivery of my smg e60 last night (pathetic, i know - but im looking forward to it like nobodys business).

Dealers that can download updates from Germany have to wait till their scheduled download date, and the ones that cant download yet have to wait 2 or more weeks for the CD to arrive

doctors4bob, what dealer are you picking your car up from? I'll let you know if they have the update...I've been calling my dealers in NJ to see when they're getting the updates...Need to get some work on my car done but I am waiting for the update so I can 'kill 2 birds with 1 stone'...
