Gentle Stutter under Acceleration in 3rd gear

Gentle Stutter under Acceleration in 3rd gear
Hi everyone... here it is..
I purchased a 2004 530i in may with 85k miles.
Under moderate acceleration in third gear, be it reg drive mode, sport mode, or manual mode, there is a slight stutter from 2k up to 4k. every 3 seconds, the car will jump/loose a bit of acceleration (what im referring to as the stutter), for less than one second, the tach will jump 200 rpm and it will continue to accelerate normally and do the same thing 2 seconds later until it hits 4k and then smooth.
it will occasionally do this in 4th if i shift into it too early in manual mode and push down on pedal heavily.
thoughts? no lights come on no matter how much i push the car into this situation.
HPFP? Coils?
It also (1 out of 10 times) turns over QUITE A BIT before starting.

Hello, I hope you got the issue fixed. I have an 04 e61 535d and experiencing the exact same with no lights/error messages, i also noticed with this issue that my car refuses to drop from 4th to 3rd when i feather the throttle as you would if you wanted to go from 6th to 5th or 5th to 4th. I would like to know if you came to a solution. Thanks
