When I drive the car after my wife it seems that the box is re-learning my style every time... I thought that computer remembers the driver by the key, and re-calibrates stuff like seats, steering wheel, mirrors, and all the computer settings, including the way gearbox shifts - is it not true? Does the gearbox remember its drivers?

The way I understand it, is that the box has no long term memory.
If you have been cruising in traffic then the box adapts.

If you then get a clear stretch of road and you hit the gas the box then adapts again.

The key "remembers" and sets up the car for you but,
for sure the gearbox memory isn't too good (long).

Today I started my car cold (-5 C), put the seat heater on,
drove a mile and vent voting, after about 15 minutes
I came back and started the car again and the seat
heater was on full, as I left it.

The car has some "brains" but on what clock they run,
I do not know.

Don't think of it in terms of AI. Think of it in terms of a 1 year old trying to anticipate your next move (e.g. separation anxiety). Sometimes, he/she cries, but it only last for about a couple of minutes.

The state you find some things in when you return to your car depends on whether it went to sleep or not. If it goes to sleep, it resets a lot of things to their default. I am not sure how long it takes for it to nod off, but it is probably available somewhere on this site since I have seen this topic before.

As for the transmission, I think it forgets everything whenever you come to a dead stop. It selects one of two programs for each mode (D, DS, M) based on how you are driving and doesn't reset it until you come to a full stop. This also has been a frequent topic on the site and you can search for the details.

I sustain that. I think 15 minutes or 30 i dunno...are needed for the car to go to sleep mode. And yes the gearbox learns from ur type of driving. Comming to s full stop should reset it although i drove a bit harder in D mode and then after a full stop it still revved more then needed although i feathered the throttle. If it learns from your driving habits...yes it does...i noticed it "unlearns" way harder. Meaning if i drive hard the gearbox adapted and chaged gears at higher rpm but then if i settle down, for a big period of time the gearbox still doesn't react and change at lower gears.

That's correct--the adaptive transmission control restarts each time the car pulls away from a stand still. Here's more than you'll ever want to know about the step trans:
