That is kinda the point why I have yet to put a after market exhust on my car, most manufactures say the 545/550 one will work , or a custom build magna flow... but they really have not taken the "Flapper" in to effect especially on the I6tt... How will this effect the back pressure and over all tune.

Also Do you get an OBD II code if you take out all the solinoid / air pump/ gass line out, or do you just cap it/ crimp it... and ignore it.
Get one designed specifically for the 535 or you can end up with less power.

What is that won't work?.....I am looking into an exhaust system for my car, and was thinking of going to american muffle, and having them do a custom for my car, but i dont' want to loose pressure, adn loose hp. If that's the case I would rather stick with the stock, and keep my flap closed.

There are several people that have put Magnaflows on the 535i's , and as for as I know had no problems, but I have yet to see any dyno pulls on a 535 , and one with a aftermarket exhaust on it. The flap needs to Open at higher rpm, and speeds, but At lower rpm , I don't know which is better right now (open or closed) . Kinda why I want to see some dyno pulls.

I would think why Dinan comes out with the rumored exhaust for the 135 and 535 later in the year, this will have been looked into. I just don't want a "it will work but has not been made for your model " hand me down from v8 .
