fuel pump issue- not bmw
Hi Guys,

I have a question related to a friend's mitsubishi.

It is a very rare model in the UK as far as i know. It is a 1.3 Mitsubishi space star.

It used to work fine until yesterday which it stopped working.

When you start and crank the engine over, I have checked and there is power to the coils but seems as if the fuel pump is gone.

there is no fuel pump sound . when measured the volt at the pump, it is only 5v.

It is 5 pin fuel pump and is the cylindrical types like below

https://www.onderdelenlijn.nl/upload...G0A08XR2-0.jpg

I tried to supply a direct feed to it to see if it work and no sound.

It has 5 pins , 1 seems to be positive and 2 negative .

How do I work out what pins I need to use?

should it work with one positive wire and 1 negative ? if yes what are the other three wires for?

is 5V normal ? I cannot see any relays for it. I have taken out all of the relays under the bonnet and inside the car and the pump is still getting 5V when the ignition key is on.

Many thanks

Why not check the fuel rail for pressure before going through all of that. Do you have a 5 pin stacked or row connector? What type of Mitsubishi?
