I just had my 545 fixed two days ago for the sam recall.

Thanks "lomag" for the details, my dealer fail to explain it to me in the way you did.

NickP, in my ignorance, what is the N62 engine you spoke about? I assume that is the V8 in my 545.

Just got off the phone with my dealer.
And this proves AGAIN that this the ULTIMATE E60 board:

If your car is involved, you will get a letter from BMW. Got mine this morning and I'll bet Rudy did, too, since ours are sisters.

My letter is probably sitting on my desk waiting for me. (Had family visiting from out-of-town all last week and never made it to the office.)

Your dealer can check your VIN in DCS and see if your car applies.

You should be getting a letter as well from BMW.

And YES, because they all come from the same factory and this fuel clip is not US spec, it should be in all cars, wherever they are in the world (for safety reasons). So if they forget putting this clip in at the factory, this affects all, and not just a couple cars.
