Fuel Line Clip Recall
It's quite ironic.. I scheduled an appointment with my dealer this morning to get CIP 12.0 loaded into the car which should fix my voice activation. Later this afternoon the mail came with this recall notice. A little exerpt:
"Recall Campaign No. 04V-303: Fuel Line Clip"
"The defect involves a circular retention clip at the quick-release coupling along the supply line. This retention clip was inadvertently not installed. As a result, it is possible in a severe frontal crash, the quick-release coupling could separate. If this happens, it is possible that a small amount of fuel could leak. In some cases, it is also possible that this small amount of fuel could ignite."
So if you get into a frontal accident hope that your car doesn't explode until you get this fixed! Ouch!
I've got to call the dealer back and make sure they can do this fix along with the CIP upgrade. They scheduled me for July 28th... far out! Geez they're busy. They said I could get it done tommorrow if I wanted though with no loaner car but I need a car!

This Recall Campaign involves E60 (5 Series) and E63/64 (6 Series) vehicles with the N62 engine which were produced from September 2003 through March 2004.
Your dealer can check your VIN in DCS and see if your car applies.
You should be getting a letter as well from BMW.
