Hi all.
My new 2008 535xi has an incredible difference in acceleration over the 2007 530. We have all read the raves about it.
I have also read that fuel usage should be about the same but it is not.
Actually, my highway mileage at very steady speeds, on a flat road, is only about 1 MPG less in the 2008 car. HOWEVER, in any traffic situaton, or even where hills are involved on highways, there is a HUGE difference in consumption due to the turbos. My overall consumption for everyday combined useage is about 5 miles per gallon lower than with the 2007, non-turbo car.
Just my two-cents worth to those of you to whom gas mileage is an issue. Fortunately, we are all extremely wealthy or we wouldn't have BMW's.
Right?
