I just don't think E60 is designed to have the big license plate hanging in the front. It makes the car look ugly (at least to me). So guys from Massachusetts, is it LEGAL to just have the back plate attached? My dealer is telling me I cannot do that anymore with the new RED plate, but old GREEN plate is OK. It doesn't make sense to me besides I have seen many car with only RED plates on the back. Please comment!

same law in CA, let them pull me over...I'd rather get a fix it ticket than drill holes and have ugly plates on the front.

Move to the south.

You can't even get 2 plates from the DMV. (They only give you 1)

You can put a Marque plate on front if you want... but that's flat-out retarded if you ask me.

Only one plate was given with the old greens, so if you've got 'em, keep 'em. The registry changed the rules when they switched to the reds. i know a couple of people who've just used one of the reds, but both have been ticketed (and both continue to use just one!!).

BTW, you can't get an inspection sticker with just one red!!

This is exactly what my dealer told me.

I wish I could swap my plate with a green one. The big/fat front plate totally ruins the handsome face of my car.

Maybe I should buy a old used car with the green plate, and ... ...
