i think the cup holders are cool, and i use them every day to hold soft drinks.
i also eat fast food in my car....whats the matter with you people? my house cost 50 times more than my car, and i eat in there so why not the car? i have a good valet company and a good air freshner so all is ok

live your life and stop worrying about some crumbs...they hoover up you know.
Is your house also cornering like a BMW and doing speeds above 150 mp/h??

Trust me ... you're not missing much!

I use my 'cupholders' to hold my Orbit gum container. NO DRINKING IN MY CAR!

Anytime I have a front seat passenger taller than 6' they are constantly hitting a knee on it! I'm afraid one of these days they'll break the thing off!

I agree. The cupholders are not great, but a 12 ounce can fits in it perfectly.

Drink canned soda and get some shorter friends

EXACTLY. I always think the same thing when people go on and on about no drinks and food in his/her precious e60. It's a car. A nice car, but it's only a car. I know more than a couple of people that spend a whole lot more time cleaning their e60 than they do their house !!! I just don't get it.

i'm in sales and im ALWAYS on the road. I unfortunately dont have a choice but to eat and drink in my car. I run around from client site to client site, sometimes across the state. I fast food it to the max in there.

Dont get me wrong, my cupholders work great when i'm not driving
I should convert to cans...sounds like that would work great. My only concern is the coffee
Everything else has a cap, etc

Hey 'elite_motorsports_BMW'

First: Your not missing much, not having a BMW e60 factory cup holder, now they are convenient but they are also prone to getting broken easily!! I know because my passenger broke her off one night, (when were parked, talking, drinking a little wine, and led to a friendly game of checkers, yea right!), but yes we were parked, and her knee hit it while she climbing over the console), But since then I got my BMW drink holder fixed, but my God BMW prices on that little cups holder cost me some big bucks for such a little device!!

I have been looking at Bav Auto Sport for a quality 3rd party company set of drink holders for my e60, and their not cheap neither, but they attaches to your console, and can be to removed if needed, for about $44.95 which I think is not a good price, but is the cheapest one with some quality I found so far.

Oh well, hope this helps, and if you find a better drink holder be sure to let me know!!

Sheesh! I can't believe how much press the cupholders in these e60's get.... A waste of electrons, in my opinion. I used to think this preoccupation was an American thing, but I see where Angelico is from so that theory's blown... Still, the idea that we'd be obsessing over how we can carry our latte's while driving the Ultimate Driving Machine enthusiastically blows my mind. For those that are really hung up on the cupholders, it might be you'd have been happier with a Merc or Lexus... JMO
