Front cupholders...

My E60 didn't have the cupholders as a option... when i called the dealership they said i couldn't install the OEM feature as i had a bluetooth dongle...
I intend on disproving this theory, how hard would it be to retrofit the cupholders? and what part of the dash would i have to buy ???

I remember a thread here where someone wanted to do that but he concluded that he must change the whole (or most of it) dashboard .

Trust me ... you're not missing much!
I use my 'cupholders' to hold my Orbit gum container. NO DRINKING IN MY CAR!
Anytime I have a front seat passenger taller than 6' they are constantly hitting a knee on it! I'm afraid one of these days they'll break the thing off!

Yeah, the cup holders really do stink big time.
Mashes the cup, with the (over)springloaded plastic lip from ONE side, making the cup/can either deform, or wiggle if it is firm plastic/alu.
Totaly useless unless you like having the drink spilled in the center stack within 200meter from take off....

Like the poster above me I, too, do not allow any liquid or food in my car.
